An enjoyable day at the RNLI

The RNLI was opened in 2004 by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, along with 238 coxswains from Great Britain and Ireland. The building is bright and modern and boasts 60 bedrooms where trainee lifeboat crew stay. These bedrooms are also available for public use, especially on the weekends.

Some of you might have heard about the RNLI College in Poole, but for those who haven't, it's a place where lifeboat crew from all over the country go to train. It has a huge simulator where they can practice and learn what it feels like on board a lifeboat. Very realistic as the floor moves like the sea along with projected images on a big screen.

The ladies enjoyed their time together, and the tour really opened our eyes to the work that goes on there. It's clear from the modern building and equipment that RNLI is dedicated to making sure their lifeboat crews are always well-equipped.

Absolutely WI highly recommend this tour to everyone.
